还没有注册缴费的家长，请您尽快在网上注册缴费。有特殊要求的家长——如需要试听新的课程、支票缴费、调整已注课程等等，请到ADMIN DESK。Parents who have not yet register your kids and pay tuition online, please do it as soon as possible. NWCS Admin would like to help those who have special needs, such as new class trial, class adjustment, payment by check, etc.

3． 书展因故推迟 BOOKSHOW POSTPONED

原定本周六在我校主校举办的书展因海运运输问题推迟，下周六的书展计划维持不变，特此通知。The book show this Saturday has to be postponed due to the slow surface shipping reasons. We will keep you posted with the latest info.

4. 低收入家庭减免学费申请

我校网站上关于《西北中文学校2010-2011 学年关于为来自经济上暂时遇到困难家庭的学生提供减/免学中文学费的暂行办法》依然有效。现正接受申请。详情请阅读相关文件（www.nwchinese.org）

The policy of Northwest Chinese School Offers Reduced/Waived Tuition for Chinese Language Classes for Students from Low Income Families still applies to those who match the rules and conditions.

5．2012 TALENT SHOW (03/25/2012)

Chinese Language and Talent Competition: Register Now

The third annual Chinese Language and Talent Competition takes place on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Chief Sealth International High School in Seattle. This event provides a venue where students with diverse backgrounds share their knowledge and experiences. Please encourage your students and children to participate or help pass the news to anyone who might be interested. All K-12 students from public and private schools are invited to compete in the following categories:

· Group Poetry Recitation 团体诗歌朗诵

· Individual Poetry Recitation 个人诗歌朗诵

· Public Speaking 演讲

· Story Telling 说故事

· Talent Show 才艺竞赛

· Chinese Singing 歌唱比赛 (new)

· Drawing 绘画比赛

· Chinese Brush Calligraphy 中国书法 (new)

· Chinese Chess 中国象棋

· China Knowledge Bowl (social studies related questions about all things Chinese) 中国常识竞答

Chinese language skills are not necessary in all categories. Winners receive certificates from Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, as well as cash rewards: $50 for individuals; $100 for teams.

各位家长、各位老师；

亲爱的同学们；

大家好！

1． 我校春节联欢会圆满落幕，特此鸣谢！

龙年正月初七（01/29/2012）是我校的大日子，一年一度的春节联欢会在IKEA表演艺术中心如期举行并获得圆满成功。在此，请允许我代表学校董事会、CNY、PTA和教育行政管理团队向每一位参加演出的同学、家长和老师致以最衷心的感谢！你们是好样的！

2．人气旺，参与性强——《西滨网》的新闻报道

“1月28日下午2时，Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center欢声雷动，笑语如潮，2012 年度西雅图西北中文学校新年联欢晚会在此愉快举行。张涛校长热情洋溢的致辞拉开了联欢会的序幕。张校长感谢各位老师、家长、学生和社区对本次活动的积极支持，并为大家送上最真挚的节日祝福。接着表尔维尤市市长李瑞麟也上台祝福大家新年快乐，同时鼓励同学们不仅要提高学业而且要积极参加各种政治活动，融入美国主流社会，为中国和美国的经济合作与发展做出贡献。

“中文学校的活动非常有其特色；人气旺，参与性强。活动组织者从不为演出售票发愁。用学生家长会主席蒋海林的话说“我们的票完全自销了”。这话真不假，做在最后一排位子上，我俯首望去，可容纳几百人的剧场，黑压压一片，座无虚席，男女老少皆有。校长、教师、家长和同学们朝气蓬勃、意气风发，表演的节目种类繁多、丰富多彩、令人印象深刻。这场表演不只是一场同贺新春，共迎佳节的节日聚会，也是孩子们学习中文应用于实践的一个汇报演出，一场演艺展现，更成为弘扬中华优秀传统文化的重要平台。

“持续了两个多半小时的晚会载歌载舞、精彩不断，现场观众以掌声和欢笑表达着自己欢度新春的喜悦。晚会在60多名学生组成的大合唱《小鸟天堂》、《送你一个大年糕》和《我和你》中圆满落下帷幕。非常感谢同学们给我们社区带来这么快乐的表演，祝愿他们快快乐乐每一天。”

3．台前幕后尽显英雄本色

众所周知，一台成功的演出固然离不开编导、演员的演技、努力和默契；但这还远远不够，因为一台成功的演出同时也离不开台前幕后剧务人员的配合，让我们一起向总导演、节目执行导演、舞台总监、背景、音响、舞美、灯光、主持人、道具、催场、后勤供应等所有的家长义工们表示最崇高的敬意！你们辛苦啦！

4．明年的成功期待在于及时地对当下进行总结

尽管大家作了最大的努力，小的瑕疵在所难免，谢谢大家以坦诚的态度和校长、董事们沟通。校长会以适当的方式敦促校董事会召开会议，邀请各方代表列席，就今年的演出进行总结，发扬成绩，超出不足，并制定出相应的合理规定，使大家能够专注于怎样把节目做得更精彩，更有吸引力，让組委会导演组老师学生家长都能愉快地参与。敬请期待。谢谢。

各位家长、各位老师；

1．期末考试

上周六我校因降雪之故临时停课，本周六主校、分校按正常作息时间上课。原本安排在上周六的期末考试将在本周六举行，请家长敦促学生复习好功课，考出理想的成绩，为本学期的学业画上一个圆满的句号。

NWCS has postponed all academic activities on 01/21 to 01/28 due to the heavy snow. Final Exams are the major academic activities for most of the classes. The Principal kindly request all parents to urge and help your kids to review all the basic knowledge we have covered this semester, especially those outlined by the teachers if there are any. Good luck!

2．本周所有班级均在原教室考试/上课

因降雪，NHS的数学竞赛也延后举行，但在本周六下午2：00之后，这样就避开了与我校大部分课程在时间和教室上的冲突，因此，主校除SAT MATH & GENERAL SCIENCE 需从1105调至1113 上课外，所有班级均在原教室上课（考试）。第十五周WEEKLY （4）中需要临时调换教室的通知已经失效。

Due to the snow，NHS moved its Math competition to 1/28 starting at 2:00pm. Therefore, there is no more classroom conflict as stated in the 15^th WEEKLY (4) except classroom 1105. SAT MATH & GENERAL SCIENCE are to be switched from 1105 to 1113.

5. AP微积分课程下学期正式开课，欢迎高年级同学踊跃报名 AP CALCULUS PREP CLASS STARTS NEXT SEMESTER, WELCOME HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO TAKE IT

The AP Calculus Prep class is designed to improve students' basic calculus understanding and concept up to Grade 12 level, to train students with easy and practical test skills on AP calculus. This spring semester will focused on practices (simulated tests) and explanations of difficult problems as well as analysis of students' progress. (For detailed introduction, please refer to our previous Weekly, the 10^th & the 11th)

6. 春节联欢文艺演出之彩排 ABOUT THE REHEARSAL

安排在农历大年三十的彩排在大家的共同努力下，如期进行。我们首先要感谢有演出任务的指导教师们、同学们和他们的家长，感谢家长们的配合、支持和耐心；同时，我们也要感谢筹委会、总导演、具体节目执行导演、舞台总监、舞台美术、灯光设计、主持人、后台勤务和后勤供应等全体义工家长。大家亲力亲为、忙碌而快乐着。在忙碌中度过了难忘的节日。因此，我们可以信心满怀地说：成功在即！诚然，在彩排过程中，我们也发现了瑕疵、配合上的默契和有待磨合、甚至个别意见相左的地方需要协调。独立完成任务需要智慧，协调整合一个集体共同完成任务则需要大智慧。我们的指导思想是：追求节目的完美，既要顾及到具体节目本身，也要照顾好整台节目之间的平衡。我们坚信这台演出一定会精彩纷呈，如愿以偿。让我们共同期待着！

７．关于联欢会校长简短致辞　PRINCIPAL’S SPEECH CUT SHORT TO GIVE MORE TIME TO STUDENTS ON STAGE

经验告诉我们：一台演出的完美与成功，除了节目本身完美之外，外在的因素也起作用，时间拖得太长，有不紧凑之嫌；太短，又余幽未尽。从彩排来看，我们的节目多，时间不够用，不得不在时间上“斤斤计较”。为了把更多的时间留给演出的孩子们，校长的致辞由原来的五分钟缩短为两分钟之内。倘若这不是一个必不可少的环节，我们宁愿把这五分钟的时间都给了学生。
