password, you can click on the link at the bottom of the page to let the system
automatically send it to you. After successful logon, you will be able to

payment receipt (family report), bring it with you when you come to school for

Beginning Adult Chinese （ 成人初级汉语）
If you are
interested in learning Chinese for business or pleasure but has no prior
knowledge of it, here is a great opportunity to get started. This is an introductory class to the Chinese
language for adults who have little or no prior knowledge of Chinese. From a form of conversational language
exposure, we will introduce the pronunciation system, composition of
characters, simple idiomatic phrases, a reasonable amount of vocabulary, and
construction of basic sentences. We will
use the book "New Practical Chinese Reader, Book I" as the text,
along with additional handouts. Students will also work with weekly
assignments.
Prerequisites: Your
interest and motivation to learn Chinese.
About the instructor: The instructor, Mr. Sun Benjing（孙本经老师）, graduated from a well-regarded Beijing
Normal University in China, and completed graduate education in the US. He has been teaching the Chinese Culture
class in NWCS for the past several years.
He is well versed in the Chinese culture and language.
Intermediate Adult Chinese （成人中级汉语）
If you have
had some prior knowledge of Chinese and want to improve your proficiency, this
class will help advance your Chinese language skills to a higher level. In this class, we will work on building
sentences with the correct grammar and idioms for use in practical situations
with a systematic grammatical framework, with increasing complexity. We will review the pronunciation system,
build up new vocabulary, study character composition, and have much practice in
sentence construction. Students will be
involved in conversational practice of practical situations. Weekly assignments will be given, along with
some additional projects. We will use
the book "New Practical Chinese Reader, Book II" as the text, along
with additional handouts. We will
periodically use students' real life situations as topics for conversational
exercises. If you want to improve your
skills of Chinese for business, personal pleasure, or interest in the Chinese
culture, please come join us.
Prerequisites: knowledge
of basic sentence construction and speech in Chinese.
About the instructor: The instructor,
Mr. Li Minggang（李明刚老师）, finished
primary and secondary education in China, and undergraduate and graduate
education at the University of California.
He is fully bilingual and bi-cultural.
He has been teaching adult Chinese and adult English at NWCS for the
past several years.
儿童卡通动画（动漫）课程

STUDENT AGES: 8 YEARS OLD AND UP
INSTRUCTOR: XIANG ZHANG (张翔)
米老鼠、唐老鸭、白雪公主、维尼熊、托马斯火车……这些栩栩如生的卡通形象风靡世界，已经成为亿万孩子乃至成人的最爱！很显然，卡通动画是一门符合儿童心理的美术课程。夸张和变形是动画的灵魂，而造型概括能力则是其必备的要素。通过这门课程的学习和线描基础的系统训练，能够提高他们对对象形态的概括能力，掌握熟练的绘画技巧，进而培养他们的艺术想象力，帮助他们积累知识，开阔视野。
有人把卡通动画比作是托着孩子想象力的帆，承载着具有坚实美术基础的船；那么，我校的动漫卡通课程就是这帆、这船，老师就是这舵手，他将引领着他们在动漫艺术世界里成长、伴着他们的纯真与梦想向前…… 。
老师介绍：张翔老师自幼学习美术，受过严格的中国画训练。还在青少年时期就连续两次获得过中国双龙杯全国书画大赛的银奖和铜奖。他2002年毕业于安徽建筑工业学院， 获得艺术设计学士学位。在此期间，其国画和设计作品均入选安徽省博物馆。本科毕业后，他曾就职于中央电视台下属的中视坤和广告设计公司，任设计师，并在外资设计公司从事室内设计及与艺术设计相关的工作。2009年迁居西雅图。
