亲爱的同学们；
大家好！
今天我愿援引中文九年级李伟老师的话作为开场白：
“祝所有人都过了一个愉快欢乐的春节！大家肯定都是一个接一个地party着，然后，孩子们顾不上做作业，就去睡觉，早上喊了好几遍都起不来，因为实在是太困了。至少我们家是这样的，孩子们玩得很高兴，但也太累了。是该收收心的时候了。”
Today, I would like to begin our weekly by quoting Mr. Li Wei’s email to his students. He urges all students to get into the frame of mind for study for the new semester after parties of one after another. I agree with him, totally.
1．春节联欢会圆满结束
谢谢大家（恕不一一提名，因名单太长）的通力合作，尤其要感谢我们的义工家长们的全力以赴，我校的春节联欢会画上了圆满的句号。表演的水平、节目的衔接、背景的色彩、主持的台词、后场的配合等等，台前幕后，就像一篇好的文章，起、承、转、合，环环相扣、恰到好处，因此，可圈可点。没有你们的密切配合、大力支持、鼎力相助，联欢会不可能办得这么令人赞口不绝。成功背后的辛苦令人感动！辛苦换来的成功令人欣慰！
WHAT A SUCESSFUL SHOW FOR CHINESE SPRING FESTIVAL
Please allow me hereby on behalf of NWCS Board, Admin and PTA to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our parents in general and volunteering parents in particular without whose supports and efforts our show could by any means be as good as what it is. In short, it is just like a perfectly-woven story. We are moved by your hardworking, which in return brought us the gratification to cherish.
2．春节联欢会彰显西北风范
我们讲过我校春节联欢活动既是一次文娱活动，也是一次展示和检验我校作为一个群体的精神风貌的活动。事实证明我们做到了而且做得很好；从集体安全、保持剧场的清洁和安静、到听从剧场工作人员的指挥和疏导、遵守剧场的各项规定，可谓事事到位、样样到家，用实际行动维护和提升了我校良好的公众形象。台上台下一样完美。
A GREAT SHOW OF PUBLIC BEARING OF NWCS
NWCS Chinese Spring Festival Performance is the show of songs and dances. It is also the display of our spiritual styles and features as a community. We have done pretty well to keep our promise: to comply with the rules and regulations: safety in public places, good manners and behaviors: not to chase, not to make noises, not to litter, no cooked food, no fruits, no seeds, etc. This is really the testimony which has maintained and upheld the public image of NWCS as a whole. Our joint effort has once again counted. The performances on the stage and the behaviors off stage have perfectly matched.
3．中华文化之旅知识竞赛
2011 Chinese Scholastic Competition Registration Starts
一项任务的圆满完成往往预示着新任务的开始，教育工作者的伟大也正在这里。请打开下面的link，仔细看看其中的内容和要求，学校鼓励我们的学生参赛，可以在我校不久前结束的才艺比赛的基础上用自愿报名、老师推荐和学校选拔的方式进行。具体事宜请与各个学科的主任联系：中文：孙梅茹，数学：戴嵘；舞蹈：傅白薇；绘画：赵铮；分校：黄敏球。Here is the link:

本竞赛的另一个长处在于它的普及性、和年龄段的大小、知识领域涵盖面要比汉办组织的中华文化知识竞赛要大得多，对年龄小的同学更有益。换句话说，它和去年汉办的比赛非但没有冲突，还有互补性。
4。经济上暂时遇到困难的家庭可申请减免学费
表格和具体实施办法都在我校的网站上，截止日期为二月十九日。让每一名来自当今经济低迷大环境下家庭经济暂时遇到困难的学子顺利入学，并得到必要的资助和关爱，这是西北中文学校对全社会的庄严承诺，是“西北人”对每一名学子的坚定保证。西北中文学校的大门永远以最低的收费标准向所有家庭、包括经济上暂时遇到困难家庭的学生敞开。并努力为学生们提供最高水平的教育。
Northwest Chinese School Continues to Offer Reduced/Waived Tuition for Chinese Language Classes for Students from Low Income Families
All NWCS students, current or new, from families with Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) lower than Washington State standards (details are listed on the Application Form: NWCS FA Form-1088), can expect to pay reduced tuition (up to 50%) or to enjoy 100% tuition waiver (tuition free) for one 2-hour Chinese Class only. In other words, this policy is not applicable to any selective classes at NWCS. No mission for NWCS is more important than to encourage her students to learn or continue to learn the Chinese Language & Culture in the pursue of their brighter future, especially when the economy is in bad shape in general, the family is temporally in financial difficulty in particular. 5．网上注册本周六截止
网上注册本周六截止就要了，请还没有注册的家长抓紧最后的时间力争在结束前注册完毕。已经注册但还没有缴费的家长，请你周六带上支票本到ADMIN 缴费。谢谢合作！
ONLINE REGISTRATION ENDS ON SATURDAY 02/12/2011
Online registration is to end this Saturday, 02/12/2011. For those who have not yet registered, please hurry up and take the remaining days to do it. For those who have done and not yet paid, please come to school with your checkbooks to make the payment at the Admin Desk. For those who need to switch in between classes or who want to try different classes before making final decisions, please come to Admin, whose team is more than happy to help you. Restricts and fees may apply after the deadline.
6. 乒乓球课的时间变更及其解释
任何一门新课，尤其是才艺课程的开设，都是学校与任课教师、和NHS 多方协调、妥协的结果。乒乓球课的开设也不例外。本课程从上学期期中就开始酝酿。起初是没有场地，好不容易有了场地，老师却在原定的时段另有了安排，因此，才导致了临时更改时间而未能提前通知有关家长和学生。特此致歉。解决的办法：一、尊重老师的时间上课（1：00PM-2:00PM）; 二、因该时间而无法修课的学生全额退还学费；三、学费因学时缩短而降为 $160/学期；本课程是为初学者开设的，其理想的学生为7 -- 12岁的初学学生。水平比较高的选手可另择机会选修本课。未尽事宜，校长负责进一步解释。谢谢。
7．书展
由中国科技出版集团美国分公司和我校联合举办的首届图书大展本周六在主校大厅开幕（上午九点至下午两点）。图书种类涵盖文学、科技、教材、工具书、畅销书、音像、书画、世界名著译著等，特此通知。
BOOK SHOW
This one-day only book show is jointly sponsored by CHINA SCIENCE PRESS USA LLC AND NWCS at common area of NHS lobby on 02/12/2011 starting at 9:00am through 2:00pm. The categories cover literature, science and technology, textbooks, dictionaries, DVD/CD, painting and calligraphy, world masterpieces translated in Chinese, etc. Welcome to the show.
