1．春季学期本周六开始，欢迎广大师生返校
截止到发稿时，通过网上注册的同学，已经逾千。请接受我们最衷心的感谢，谢谢合作！已经网上注册的家长，请在本周六带上支票本到admin 缴费；没有来得及网上注册的家长，请抓紧时间；需要调整班级和课程以及让孩子试听课程的家长，请到Admin。谢谢配合。
Spring Semester starts this Saturday and welcome back to School
There are more than thousand students being registered online so far as this message was written. Please accept our sincere thanks for having done so. For those registered, please come to school with your checkbooks. For those not yet, please hurry up. For those who need to switch in between classes or who want to try different classes before making final decisions, please come to Admin, whose team is more than happy to help you.
2．春节联欢会本周日隆重开幕
我校春节联欢活动既是一次文娱活动，也是一次展示和检验我们学校作为一个群体的精神风貌的活动。我们相信绝大部分观众能做得很好；之所以反复强调，为的是从管理的角度把工作做得到位、做得到家。祈请各位家长务必提醒我们学生和家人，尤其是年幼的学生注意安全；保持剧场的清洁和安静；剧场内严禁带入零食如盒饭、带皮带核的食物；请勿乱跑、请勿乱扔纸屑；听从剧场工作人员的指挥和疏导；遵守剧场的各项规定，维护和塑造我校良好的公众形象，让台上台下一样完美。
NWCS Chinese Spring Festival Performance is the show of songs and dances. It is also the display of our spiritual styles and features as a community. We are confident that the majority will behave as well as expected, complying the rules and regulations. It is hereby to repeat so from the aspect of management of public or massive activities. Thank you for your understanding. Safety is a subject that we can never overemphasize，especially in public places such as in theaters. Please remind you students and your kids to pay attention to it, plus, to mind their behaviors: not to chase, not to make noises, not to litter, no cooked food, no fruits, no seeds, as the rules and restrictions of the theater indicated. This is really the moments that maintain and uphold the public image of NWCS as a whole. Our joint effort counts.
3．经济上暂时遇到困难的家庭可申请减免学费
表格和具体实施办法都在我校的网站上，截止日期为二月十九日。让每一名来自当今经济低迷大环境下家庭经济暂时遇到困难的学子顺利入学，并得到必要的资助和关爱，这是西北中文学校对全社会的庄严承诺，是“西北人”对每一名学子的坚定保证。西北中文学校的大门永远以最低的收费标准向所有家庭、包括经济上暂时遇到困难家庭的学生敞开。并努力为学生们提供最高水平的教育。
Northwest Chinese School Continues to Offer Reduced/Waived Tuition for Chinese Language Classes for Students from Low Income Families
All NWCS students, current or new, from families with Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) lower than Washington State standards (details are listed on the Application Form: NWCS FA Form-1088), can expect to pay reduced tuition (up to 50%) or to enjoy 100% tuition waiver (tuition free) for one 2-hour Chinese Class only. In other words, this policy is not applicable to any selective classes at NWCS. No mission for NWCS is more important than to encourage her students to learn or continue to learn the Chinese Language & Culture in the pursue of their brighter future, especially when the economy is in bad shape in general, the family is temporally in financial difficulty in particular. 4．校园文化、书画展、LOGO及其他
CAMPUS CULTURE, ARTS SHOW, NWCS LOGO, ETC
政治学理论告诉我们：大到一个国家、一个民族的发展，小到一个公司、一所学校的生存，文化至关重要。文化是根。从管理的角度看，文化是一群人在长期的生产生活中，共同形成的一种价值观、行为方式或者思维习惯。文化的功能可以整合人们的价值观念、固化人们的思维习惯、规范人们的行为方式。具体到单位内部的资源配置，第一靠行政命令，第二靠利益驱动，第三就是靠文化。一个单位的文化来源于一种制度的推行，籍以深入人心，沉淀内化到每个人的内心深处，变成了人们自觉遵守的一种东西。一所学校在有了品牌、有了规模之后，其持续发展的潜力往往要靠抓质量、上品位、和有一批有品位的教师们在教学第一线执教，教书育人。他们的兢兢业业和高度的责任感使得行政命令在大多数情况下已无必要；他们和家长们的无私奉献和义工精神又使得利益驱动大凡失灵；因而，我们西北中文学校能有今天的规模和成就，靠的就是属于我们大家又属于我们每一个人的“西北中文校园文化”。有具有这样文化素养的老师们在我校各个学科执教，学校的未来可谓前程似锦。现以美术绘画教学组为例，以点带面：正是因为赵铮、崔兰、赵步东、周志伟，陈奕宁，林书芬等老师们的辛勤培育，我们的学生才创作出这样优秀的作品，在校内外的展出中好评如潮，为学校争得了荣誉，也因此才有今天的发奖仪式。重要的是：孩子们的情操在学习过程中得到了陶冶，孩子们的天赋和潜力在临摹和创作中得到了展现，而老师们的优良品德也潜移默化地得以传承。请大家从艺术的视角再仔细地看一遍我校已使用多年的LOGO, 据我所知这是我校美术教师崔兰老师的作品。在全美中文学校年会上，许多校长都夸奖我校的LOGO简洁、明快、大气、得体，兼具实用价值和艺术价值。我的美国朋友也深有同感。我以为所言极是。（THE ENGLISH VERSION OF THIS PASSAGE IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. 6．《学语文》杂志已到，请中文老师前来领取
为所有中文教师订阅《学语文》杂志，系我校本年度教师培训内容之一。《学语文》杂志为北美权威性汉语教学期刊，现有国家汉办直接领导、组织专家编辑出版。改版后，我校为该杂志的第一所合作学校，双方正在策划如何刊登我校的介绍、教师的文章和校园生活的图片。请各位老师、家长积极投稿和提供反映我校校园生活、尤其是教学活动的照片。截稿日期为04/16/2011。
LEARN CHINESE-LANGUAGE & CULTURE (LCLC) IS AVAILABLE FOR TEACHERS OF CHINESE ON ADMIN DESK THIS SATURDAY
LCLC is a magazine for Chinese language & culture teachers in North America. Supervised by the Office of Chinese Language & Culture International, it is edited with experts and scholars and published monthly. NWCS is the first of its partner among all Chinese Schools in US. LCLC USA and NWCS are to discuss the possible ways to cooperate, including teachers training seminar, carrying articles and photos by and from NWCS faculty, etc. Please submit your works no later than April 16th, 2011.
