1．网上报名第一周注册人数已逾六百
自从上周网上注册工作准备就绪以来，广大家长积极响应，网上注册踊跃，截止到发稿时，报名人数已过六百。特此感谢！因更换电邮地址等原因而无法注册的家长，请与我们联系，我们很乐意提供必要的技术帮助。

Online registration for next semester is pretty active since it was ready last week, with more and more parents registering their returning boys and girl online. It’s safe, convenient and time-saving. Thank you so much for doing so. More than 600 students registered online so far as this message is composed. For those who encountered temporary difficulties due to the change of email addresses, please feel free to contact our web master by emailing us your current email addresses to admin@www.nwchinese.org. Once it has been received, the resetting can be done quickly. Please pay attention to the minor changes of some of the classes, especially the new classes added. Priority online registration ends on 02/05/2011, with all online activities ending on 02/12/2011, after which restricts and fees may apply.
2. 欢迎对校长及其团队批评荐言
继续欢迎广大家长对我们的行政管理工作的方方面面提出批评，以便在下学期将各项工作做得更好。批评相对于表扬而言，在某种意义上，看上去可能是消极的，但它往往能产生积极的效果。
CRITICISM & SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME
This is the last week but not the least of the semester. We Admin as a team sincerely welcome criticism and suggestions from all parents and teachers so that we can draw lessons from mistakes and have the jobs done better in the future. Criticism is a negative task that is supposed to have positive payoffs.
3. 春节联欢晚会基本准备就绪，进入倒计时
我校一年一度的春节联欢晚会已经成为我校校园生活中的一个不可或缺的组成部分，我们也很高兴给大家，尤其是学生们提供一个他们风采小试、锋芒初露、展示特长和天赋的机会。在大家共同努力下，尤其是在PTA主席蒋海林的领导下，特别是杨展涛、向碧野、卞荣荣、唐迪、魏古斌、程远、张维、熊一华、李宁、张岩、吴俊英等细致、认真的分工与合作，晚会已初见端倪，届时向大家奉献的不仅仅是一台精彩的演出，还有作为西北中文学校一分子的温暖和自豪。
NWCS Chinese New Year Celebration Performance (CNYCP, 2011) on the Way，counting down
CNYCP has become an expected part of our campus lives here in NWCS, unimaginable without it. We are more than happy to offer our students more opportunities to fully display their wit and talent. Under the leadership of our PTA Chair, HAILIN JIANG, with efforts of many others, ZHANTAO YANG, BIYE XIANG, RONGRONG BIAN,DI TANG, GUBIN WEI,YUAN CHENG, WEI ZHANG, YIHUA XIONG, NING LI, YAN ZHANG, JUNYING WU, just name a few. What they are to present is not only the joyful shows, but also the warm sensation and the pride of being a member of NWCS.
4．一票难求
我校今年的春晚联欢活动是在总结历年经验的前提下综合、评估、平衡的结果。PTA 及其团队恪尽职守，宣传得力，促销有方，票已售罄。就像一度出现的“停车难”一样，我们又面临着“一票难求”的困境。之所以售票，一是为了入场后人人有座位，保证剧场内秩序井然，二是票据是抽奖的凭据。除董事会赠送特邀嘉宾的少量门票和任课教师每人一张门票外，所有的门票都是公开出售的，先买先得，概莫能外。事已至此，解决的办法：已经买到票的家长，万一当天临时有事不能出席，请您把票转卖给正在求票的人士，校内优先；可把原给幼童购买的票卖给他人，抱着幼童观看；去参加剧场外的游戏活动，据我所知，那里的“节目”同样引人入胜，您的参与会使我们的游艺更加精彩。我们说过：大有大的难处，一票难求就是之一。谢谢合作。
A SINGLE TICKET IS HARD TO GET
The decision making process is the result of summarizing the previous activities of such based on various factors. Thanks to the leadership, the promotion, the organization and team work of PTA, all tickets have been sold out except a handful reserved by the Board for NWCS distinguished guests. The sale is purely first-come-first-serve based without any exceptions at all. My solution is this: First, if you have already purchased tickets and you find that you are unable to be present at the show after double-checking you schedule, please resell your tickets to those who need them, with NWCS members being the priority. Second, you can resell the tickets originally for kids under 6 or younger to others and you share the same seat with your kids. PTA, BOARD & ADMIN would be more than happy to help meet your needs. It really depends as to how much we can do under such circumstances.
5．新增幼儿舞蹈（4-6岁）NEW CLASS INTRODUCTION
DANCING FOR KIDS OF 4 TO 6 YEARS OF AGE
时间: 11:00AM-12:00PM
教室: Classroom 2109
教师简介: 何璐, 中国湖南长沙，从事舞蹈教学17年，少年考入湖南省长沙市歌舞团任舞蹈演员，后考入北京舞蹈学院，毕业于该院青少儿教育表演专业。曾系世界文化艺术研究中心理事；湖南省舞蹈家协会会员，长沙市舞蹈家协会理事。曾荣获湖南省长沙市第二届青年文艺“十星”的光荣称号；授予过长沙市文学艺术第二届“优秀文艺成果奖”和“湖南省第二届舞蹈考级优秀教师”奖。获得了北京舞蹈学院芭蕾舞、中国舞及湖南省中国舞考级教师资格证书。主演和创作了许多优秀作品，代表作《春江花月夜》、《心愿》、芭蕾舞《琼花独舞》、《火塘边》等，曾多次参加过中国大陆各大型文艺节目比赛和调演，并在中央电视台、湖南电视台、贵州电视台等播放，培养了大量优秀学生考入专业学校。
课程内容:
中国舞教学分五个部分：
1.地面上的练习 ：手型和手腕，训练孩子们手型的规范和手腕关节的灵活。勾绷脚的练习：训练孩子们脚腕的灵活。手位练习：单山膀的练习和双山膀的练习，主要是规范孩子们的手臂动作，出手漂亮，为将来舞蹈打基础。头、眼练习：在中国古典舞中，头和眼神非常重要，每组动作的结构基本都有亮相。因此，需要从小训练。抱端腿、前旁后踢腿、腹背肌、旁后弯腰、压腿、前滚翻等都是训练孩子身体的柔软度。
2.把杆练习：站立、半脚尖、脚位、屈伸和小跳：让孩子们知道怎么站立，不弯腰背，怎么踮脚跳舞，中国舞有哪些脚位，为将来跳舞规范地打下基础。
3.中间部分练习：舞台方位练习、手臂的波浪练习、肩臂的练习，再训练最简单的舞步，2/4 和 3/4节奏的舞步训练，初步训练孩子们四肢的协调性。
4.民族民间舞：儿童蒙古族舞和藏族舞等，主要让孩子们初步从感官上认识少数民族舞，它的风格与汉族舞的区别。
5.表演性组合： 孩子们最乐意的是上台舞蹈，为增加她们对舞蹈的兴趣爱好，培养她们对音乐的节奏能力， 四肢协调能力，教授一些欢快、轻盈、趣味性强的小舞蹈，这些小舞蹈可以独立完成的，充分地让她们展示自己。
6. TABLE TENNIS CLASS (PING PONG)
乒乓球，如同二胡之于国乐、武术之于国粹，是中国的国球。半个世纪以来，他不仅为祖国争得了荣誉，也演绎了诸如“乒乓外交”这样既改变了世界格局，也改变了我们命运的经典。我校有幸请到了原国家乒乓球队国手、蝉联七届全美职业冠军的范毅勇先生和乒坛新秀赵婧祎（jingyi）来我校执教。欢迎十岁以上学生踊跃报名。但因场地的原因，上课地点有可能有时在NHS, 有时在WASHINGTON TABLE TENNIS CLUB。必须说明的是：所有修这门课的学生，无论是教职员工的孩子与否，一律按统一学费（$240/semester）收费。Table tennis has become the National sport of China, The Classic “Ping Pong Diplomacy”, which altered the course of the modern world, which also changed our fate, without which it is really hard to imagine where we are and how our lives look like, is to have its 40th anniversary this year. Luckily YIYONG FAN, and JENNY ZHAO are invited to teach the basic skills from the scratch. Students of 10 year old or older are encouraged to enroll. Our tuition waiver policy does not apply to this Table Tennis class due to its unique characteristics, complying with our out-of-campus activity policy.
7. 家长免费国标舞班
时间: 星期六上午9:00-10:50
地点: NHS Upper Gym (room 2502)
老师: 吴俊英
学校在即将开始的春季学期里邀请国际标准舞教师吴俊英为家长免费教授国标舞。吴老师在国内取得了国家级教师及国家级裁判资格，并在2001年考取了英国皇家舞蹈教师协会国际级教师资格，在国内有自己的舞蹈学校，具有十几年的教授拉丁舞，摩登舞的教学经验，并在国内多次获奖。相信各位家长一定会在锻炼身体的同时感受到美的熏陶. 名额有限, 报名从速!
8.我校舞蹈班在微软晚会上的演出相当精彩
一月二十二日晚，微软举行隆重的中国春节联欢活动，我校舞蹈班的同学们在傅白薇老师的带领下，应邀登台表演《戏雨》、《数星星》两个舞蹈。同学们的舞姿优美、动作娴熟、着装大气、表情优雅，博得阵阵掌声。
FABULOUS SHOW ON THE STAGE OF MICROSOFT
NWCS dancing class presented a fabulous show on the stage of Microsoft. The following is a quotation from one of the audiences, “This was our class's debut performance of the dance Playing in the Rain and Counting Stars. They were astonishingly good! Seating in as the audience I felt so excited and inspired. The successful performance on such a stage is the best reward to the passionate and creative artistic work by Fu Laoshi, hard work by the lovely girls, and great support from school and parents. Good result comes from good team work.”
9. 温馨提示
请各位家长务必提醒我们学生和家人，尤其是年幼的学生注意安全；保持剧场的清洁和安静；剧场内严禁带入零食如盒饭、带皮带核的食物；请勿乱跑、请勿乱扔纸屑；听从剧场工作人员的指挥和疏导；遵守剧场的各项规定，维护和塑造我校良好的公众形象，让台上台下一样完美。
Safety is a subject that we can never overemphasize，especially in public places such as in theaters. Please remind you students and your kids to pay attention to it, plus, to mind their behaviors: not to chase, not to make noises, not to litter, no cooked food, no fruits, no seeds, complying all rules and regulations of the theater. This is really the moments that maintain and uphold the public image of NWCS as a whole. Our joint effort counts.
